tripNETer Road Trip Music

31 May

In our Road Trip through the Green Spain, we spent many ‘lost hours’ driving from one landscape to another. We have found that for us there are some basic elements to survive the boredom that we want to share with you:

1) Bring with you lots of drinks. Water is the perfect choice to be hydrated, but I do prefer fruit juices (Peach specially, my favourite).

2) Something easy and ‘clean’ to eat. Clean because we want to maintain our lovely little car clean and healthy. And easy because the driver has the right to eat while he drives carefully :). Better if it is healthy. Our choice are nuts (I LOVE Cashew Nuts).

3) Some easy ‘travelling-game’. We choose to play with an easy Trivial Pursuit Online App (we could connect ourselves thanks to tripNETer!).

4) And OF COURSE, don’t ever forget to bring with yourselves cool music lists!!. We brought our Spotify App so we could hear all the music we wanted when we wanted.

I prepared a Road Trip Spotify list with an eclectic but consistent music selection.

The Music highlights of this week were the followings (please! Don’t judge us! there was a long road before us!)

Journey – Don’t stop believing (Video)

Why do we love it? Because we never liked the Glee version, we do prefer the guitar riff of the original. And because it brings me memories of my days back in Oklahoma.
Our favourite quote? ‘Streetlight people, living just to find emotion. Hiding somewhere in the night’. Tragic.

The Cave – Mumford & Sons (Video)

Why do we love it? Because we feel touched and fascinated along the ‘crescendo’ music and the poetry of the lyrics, and because we feel teleported to the country side of the EEUU due to the instrumentation.

Our favourite quote? ‘The harvest left no food for you to eat. You cannibal, you meat-eater’. Heavy.

Rosario – No dudaría (Video)

Why do we love it? Because she is the daughter of one of the most famous andalusian folklore singer and dancer, and this song is a tribute to his dead brother (Spain renowned). It also talks about the peace in the world. Sometimes we miss a hippie touch in our live!.

Our favourite quote? ‘Si pudiera sembrar los campos que arrase, si pudiera devolver la paz que quite, no dudaría en volver a reír’, which would mean, more or less, ‘If I could sow seeds in the fields I made bare, If I could restore the peace that was there, their is no doubt I could laugh again’

Attention: Guilty Pleasure.

Carly Rae Jepsen – Call me maybe (Video)

Why do we love it? Because is a sticky stupid song that we love to sing out loud. But we love it the most because in few weeks we will never ever remember it again.

Our favourite quote? ‘Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here’s my number, so call me, maybe?” 21th century Poetry.

Hope you enjoyed! keep tuned.
